The State of Connecticut has issued a driver Hours of Service waiver for motor carriers who are involved in the direct assistance of the emergency.
“Direct assistance” means transportation and other relief services provided by a motor carrier or its driver(s) incident to the immediate restoration of essential supplies such as, food and fuel and services such as, electricity, medical care, sewer, water, telecommunications, and telecommunication transmissions.
CEMA advises that members only utilize the HOS waiver if they are in direct assistance of the emergency.
