Turning used cooking oil into fuel; press conference advisory for Tuesday 6-28

Used Cooking Oil From Connecticut Restaurants, Along With Other Food Waste, Is Being Turned Into Fuel To Heat Your Home!

• On July first, a new Connecticut state law will require all home heating oil to be blended with this new, sustainable, green liquid fuel!
• It’s called biodiesel and it’s good for Connecticut and the environment!
• It’s made right here in Connecticut and sourced from local restaurants and suppliers in the region. It’s processed into a safe, clean-burning fuel in New Haven at American Green Fuels, which is the largest biodiesel producer in the Northeast, and along the Eastern seaboard of the United States.
• Biodiesel is great for the environment and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent and can reach carbon neutrality!
• This is Connecticut’s first step to independence from foreign oil.
